Privacy Policy

Introduction

LocalDataPoint (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website https://localdatapoint.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the Service.

Data We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

Information you provide directly

  • Contact form submissions — when you send us a message, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data — our hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard web server logs, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time and date of your visit. This data is used for security and operational purposes only and is not linked to any personal profile.
  • reCAPTCHA signals — we use Google reCAPTCHA v3 on our contact form. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information (such as device and application data) and sends it to Google to determine whether an interaction is human. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries submitted via our contact form.
  • To protect the Service against spam, abuse, and automated attacks.
  • To monitor and maintain the security and availability of our infrastructure.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or behavioural advertising.

Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy and data practices, which we encourage you to review.

Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Service. Google Analytics collects anonymised data such as pages visited, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic location (country/region level). This data is associated with a randomly generated client ID stored in a first-party cookie (_ga) and is retained for 14 months by default.

We do not enable Google Signals, User-ID linking, or any advertising features. The data is used solely for aggregate site performance analysis.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

Google reCAPTCHA v3 may also set cookies as part of its fraud-detection process. These are set by Google, not by LocalDataPoint. See Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles this data.

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping purposes (typically no longer than 12 months).

Server log data is retained for a maximum of 90 days for security and operational monitoring purposes, after which it is automatically deleted.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — you may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to erasure — you may request that we delete personal data we hold about you, subject to any legal obligations requiring us to retain it.
  • Right to restrict processing — you may ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to object — you may object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the form at localdatapoint.com/contact. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
