Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using https://localdatapoint.com (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and LocalDataPoint (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
About Our Data
LocalDataPoint aggregates and presents publicly available environmental and geographic data sourced from government agencies, including but not limited to:
- The United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- The UK Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI)
- Environment and Climate Change Canada
- The Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and state water utilities
While we take care to accurately represent the source data, we make no warranty that the information presented on the Service is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. Government databases are updated periodically and we refresh our records annually or when new releases are published — there may be a lag between a government update and our refresh.
The data on this Service is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for official government publications, certified laboratory testing, or professional advice.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial informational purposes.
You may:
- Browse and view water quality, environmental, and geographic data presented on the Service.
- Share links to individual pages of the Service for non-commercial purposes.
- Reference or cite information from the Service in personal or academic work, provided you credit LocalDataPoint and the original government data source.
Prohibited Use
You may not:
- Systematically scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service in bulk without our prior written consent.
- Use the Service or its data to build or train a competing product or service without our prior written consent.
- Reproduce, redistribute, or resell data from the Service as your own commercial product without a licensing agreement.
- Attempt to circumvent any security measures, access controls, or rate limits implemented on the Service.
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it or interfere with any other party's use of the Service.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Present data from the Service in a way that is misleading, deceptive, or likely to cause harm to individuals or communities.
If you are interested in API access or data licensing for commercial use, please contact us to discuss options.
Intellectual Property
The underlying government data aggregated and displayed by the Service is sourced from public-domain government datasets and remains subject to the respective licensing terms of those agencies.
The selection, arrangement, presentation, design, compilation, and original written content of the Service — including page layouts, city descriptions, data visualisations, and the LocalDataPoint brand — are the intellectual property of LocalDataPoint and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the LocalDataPoint name, logo, or other brand features without our prior written consent.
